Golden Cross... Then Savior... On Ice!...
review The Official Afterparty for Cardiff's big day in the park was held at the Academy Ice Rink. 4,000 capacity... gulp... with a host of big name DJs... always a bit of a gamble, these huuuuge venues. As some of us will remember, Brighton had trouble filling the Brighton Centre (similar sort of capacity), and Manchester had trouble filling the MEN Arena last year... but no matter. We may have been rattling around a bit in there, but the atmosphere was good and, thankfully, all the ice had melted. Lots of stage acts to keep us amused... fire-juggling, boys in skimpy clothes, flag wavers... A good laugh. It was 9pm to 6am... 9 hours of clubbing for a tenner! Can't be bad. Unless you were as knackered as we were after Cooper's Field, then the Golden Cross... Make it STOP!
Our story begins... well... there was a bit of a party and there was alcohol involved and... then we went to the Golden Cross for some cabaret and more alcohol and... well, let's just say that by the time we got to the Ice Rink all the ice had melted.
