(the Great) Moscow State Circus!...
review
Whilst the Ladyboys of Bangkok might have their own erection closer to the centre of town, the big top on Preston Park hosts a show aimed squarely at the kid in everyone.
A traditional circus in every sense of the word, right down to the saw-a-lady-in-half and human cannonball act, the Moscow State Circus takes you through everything you'd expect to see in a Big Top. Whilst the juggler may have dropped the odd ball and some of the mirrored box tricks really can't have had many people fooled, the show certainly had some 'wow' moments with acrobats being hurled to incredible heights and occasional stunts that made even the most reluctant audience members put their hands together in appreciation.
It must be difficult to know how to keep today's wired generation of Wii toting children entertained. This may not be the most sophisticated line-up of entertainment but the Moscow State Circus gave it their best shot and there's no doubt that kids still love a live show under canvas!
