Free from artificial additives, using local fresh produce wherever possible and containing minimal quantities of sea salt and natural fats, it's perhaps no surprise that a number of distinguished reviewers have coined the phrase 'the World's first healthy pie' to describe these scrummy baked masterpieces.

For those who want their food on the run, the meticulously crafted own-recipe pastry holds up perfectly to allow you to eat the pie without embarrassing disintegration. Those that wish to dine in are served up arguably the best pie, mash and peas in town in the contemporary surroundings of their North Laine cafe. For a lighter option, you could choose the salad accompaniment instead. Pokeno Pies are also justifiably proud of their coffees and we'd recommend you try the 'flat white' house speciality. The cafe is fully licenced with seating on the ground floor with it's huge window looking out onto the bustle of one of Brighton's most interesting streets, or you could choose the more secluded upstairs seating area (also available, incidentally, for hire - which would make a very original venue for a party or celebration!)

During the Summer months, you can team up your meal with a great selection of ice creams or chilled beers to combat the heat. Over the Winter months, of course, you have the epitome of comfort food at your beck and call.
