The gem in Brighton's performance arts crown is, undoubtedly, The Komedia - bringing an impressive array of comedy, live music, cabaret and theatre to a diverse audience. In fact, together with the sister-venue in Edinburgh, Komedia are at the forefront of the country's entertainment scene attracting professional and fringe acts from around the globe.
Created in 1994 at a venue across town in the St James Street area, until moving across to it's present occupation in Gardner Street, the current venue has recently been further expanded to provide two larger distinct performance areas. It's not surprising that such a flexible venue has played host to some of the biggest names in music and comedy, including The Arctic Monkeys, KT Tunstall, The League of Gentleman and Johnny Vegas and the ever-changing programme keeps enticing an array of acts of both the established and the up-and-coming variety.
Watch out for the Brighton institution that is The Treason Show and the REALBrighton.com sponsored Bent Double as well as The Kronenbourg Krater Comedy Club - check out our updated listings for what's on.
